Grown in the heart of the Rutherford appellation the 2010 Frog's Leap Sauvignon Blanc alludes to its storied region with aromas of wet stone, peach blossom and Meyer lemon zest. Across the palate the varietal's fruit character moves forward with more citrus and a touch of stone fruit all supported by the wine's minerality and crisp, bracing acid. This refreshing wine has a lingering finish that is sure to satisfy on a warm summer's day, or with an array of dishes from pan roasted Petrale Sole to a few simple slices of Chèvre.

"John Williams makes this wine from five vineyards near Galleron Lane in Rutherford, all of them dry farmed. He left the grapes on the vine longer than usual due to high acidity levels in 2010, but managed to pick before the heat wave struck Napa Valley, producing a complex wine that balances fatness and freshness. It layers herbal scents with ripe fruit notes of melon, pineapple and cherimoya, cleaned up in the finish by pink grapefruit acidity. The flavors are saturated and sophisticated, a rich white to pour with Thai chicken sausages off the grill."

The 2010 Frog's Leap Sauvignon Blanc was a steal at $13.99. The wine was excellent, had a clean crisp taste and actually did have a hint of a Meyer lemon zest. I have recommended this wine to others and they all enjoyed this Sauvignon Blanc.

This is my all time favorite sauvignon blanc. It has the perfect balance of flavors. Not acidic and very smooth. I love that it is organic as well.
