Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Deep, intense black fruit, bright acidity and long gorgeous flavors are a hallmark of this long growing season and a reason to celebrate the intense effort and sacrifice it took to get there. The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic. Made to accompany that herb-crusted standing rib roast, it surely will not disappoint. Throw a few bottles in the cellar... they will almost certainly reward the effort over the next 20–30 years.

Blend: 93% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc, 1% Merlot
