Winemaker's Notes

Showing dark ruby color, the Bosche Cabernet Sauvignon has a sweet black cherry aroma with integrated black fruits. There is great depth and complexity in the nose with forest floor, green olive, aromatic cedar and walnut meat. The flavor is big, voluptuous, soft and velvety, with great depth of black fruit. The tannins are very well integrated in this beautifully balanced claret, providing a very long fruitful finish.

Critical Acclaim

"Bright ruby-red. Very floral aromas of black raspberry, cherry and minerals. Round and seamless, with good inner-mouth definition and lift to the flavors of plum, dark cherry, cigar box and green olive. This solidly structured wine finishes with substantial broad, dusty tannins. Winemaker Ted Edwards noted that he may "fine-tune" the tannins prior to the bottling. All of these 2009s represent a step up in quality from this winery's 2008s.

"The estate's 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Bosche is a little less outwardly exuberant than the Sycamore but makes up for that with its notable drive and pure energy. Black currants, crushed rocks, violets and melted road tar flow across the palate in this beautifully delineated vibrant wine. The floral-infused finish opens up beautifully with time in the glass. All the elements are in the right place. The 2009 Bosche is 92% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Merlot. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2029.

Learn About Napa Valley

It's hard not to think of Napa Valley when thinking of California wines. The region is, after all, the one that brought world recognition to California wine making. The area was settled by a few choice wine families in the 1960's who bet that the wines of the area would grow and flourish. They were right. The Napa wine industry really took off in the 1980's, when vineyard...

Perhaps that title is due to its ability to grow worldwide in a number of climates, or to the fact that it produces wine with such character yet such diversity. Either way, this grape is responsible, as a whole or a partner, for some of the greatest wines in the world. In Bordeaux,...
