Franciscan Magnificat 2003
Bordeaux Red Blends
from Napa Valley, California
winemaker's notes:
Magnificat is a hand-selected blend of the vintage's finest lots of fruit. Every year, winemaker Janet Myers tastes hundreds of barrel samples to craft Magnificat, a wine as seamless and harmonious as the Bach masterwork it honors in name.
Varietal Composition: 71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 2% Malbec, 2% Petit Verdot.
Appearance: Deep red.
Aroma: Plum and dried cherries are intertwined with hints of tobacco, rich chocolate and soft violet.
Flavors: Luscious notes of dark cherry, clove and cocoa fill the mouth. Elegant and soft, the supple tannins infuse the palate and bring the wine to a long finish with hints of sweet toasty oak and a touch of cocoa.

I am a waitor in Chappaqua NY, I'll make this short and sweet, its the best big wine you'll drink. We can't have enough of it.

I must say this was the wine that brought me over to the other side. It was the first that I can honestly say appealed to all of the senses in one sitting. Since this wine, I've been hooked on the big ones and haven't messed with merlot since. Magnificat lives up to its name.
