Winemaker's Notes

Blend: 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc, Petite Verdot and Malbec

Appearance: Deep ruby red

Aroma: Cassis, ripe dark cherry and tobacco, with earthy notes of sage and peppercorn and sweet hints of vanilla.

Flavors: Mouth-filling, well structured palate of deep blackberry, coffee and spice. Rich and vibrant with supple tannins, finishing with notes of cassis, chocolate, and toasted oak.

As a diplomat, I drank wine all around the world for my country. Franciscan Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, dollar-for-doallar is one of the best wines I have ever tasted.

The Franciscan is a solid Cabernet. It isn't a cheap wine, but it always tastes good. A full-bodied, dense wine - it will always please. This is a must-have for your wine cellar.

This Cabernet is great for the money. Rich flavors of chocolate and cassis. It is big so pair it with some great big dinners this winter.
