winemaker's notes:

Peck Ranch produces both Zinfandel and Petite Sirah of intense character. The Zinfandel lends pepper and spicy berry fruit flavors while the Petite Sirah adds a deep, rich complexity to the structure of the wine. A match made in heaven. The Grapes were harvested in the cool of the early morning, crushed and placed into Stainless Steel tanks for a two day cold soak. Frequent punchdowns were the order for the first 2 days, which progressed to pumping over 4 times daily. A slow, gentle fermentation proceeded pressing off when dry. The wines were aged for 14 months in American (Seguin Moreau) and French (Nadalier) oak barrels which lend to a silky, toasted oak finish.

On the nose the wine has spicy berry fruit, anise and sweet vanilla. On the palate, bright spicy blackberry, fig and anise trail into a long silky oak finish, rich with vanilla and toast. Most refined and sophisticated, yet totally Zinfandel.
