Fonseca vintage ports are renowned for their great fruit richness and voluptuousness, and, while powerful and mouthfilling, for their breed and balance. In the context of each vintage, they combine the tannic dimension and ""grip"" which give great port its longevity with the structure and complexity that are Fonsecas hallmark. Among the Douros first growths, Fonseca Vintage Port is clearly the ""Pétrus"" of Port.

this fine port reminds me of a summer day on the french riviera. Subtle aftertastes leaves hints of truffle with crushed pine needles, with just a hint of oak bark. The opacity is a fervent mahogany with a truly divine finish reminiscent of an April shower.

My first port, and I'm astounded by it's taste and quality. I cannot put my glass down, as I watched an equally classy movie "Colosseum" by BBC. Fine and rich flavor, a must for everyone.
