Flora Springs planted their Crossroad Vineyard in
the Oakville Appellation with
Sauvignon Blanc, using the
Sauvignon Musque clone in order to make the
most unique flavors that they could. Although
this area is noted for the production of great
red grapes, Flora Springs took the bold step of
challenging this warm growing region with the
very distinct white grape and they are ecstatic with
the result. As a result of that planting, they have
captured a special hint of gooseberry and
herbal expression that are trademarks of the
Sauvignon Blanc varietal.
The great consistency of Soliloquy over the
last several years is indicative of the fruit that Flora Springs is getting from their
Oakville vineyard. The 2004 Soliloquy is focused and lean with a clean
fruit sensation on the palate – flavors of melon and fig with just a hint
of vanilla. The finish is smooth and long, with just a hint of tartness to
give it that extra "zing" at the end. It is an incredibly well-balanced
wine that is refreshing and complex at the same time.
Flora Springs is a family endeavor that epitomizes hard work, dedication and teamwork . The vitality of this family is obvious as they set about the task of growing great grapes and making absolutely delicious wine.

The Napa wine industry really took off in the 1980's, when vineyard...Read More About Napa Valley
Bordeaux White Blend There's white wine in Bordeaux, too! Typically made from Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and bits of Muscadelle, white Bordeaux can be a fully dry table wine or, as in Sauternes, a deliciously sweet dessert wine. In other areas of the world, a Bordeaux blend consists primarily of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, either of which may be the predominant variety. Bordeaux blends can vary in style, but most have good acidity and often a mineral overtone.
