First planted to Martha's Vineyard clone Cabernet in 1973, the Wedding Vineyard covers
eleven gently sloping acres (up to 15 degrees, oriented south-west) on our Mountain Estate at an elevation of 1,200 feet. Approximately nine acres were replanted in 2001 under the careful guidance of David Abreu: seven blocks of Cabernet (clone 337 and Martha's Vineyard clone), one block of Petit Verdot (clone 400) and one block of Cabernet Franc (clone 327).
90% Cabernet, 7% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc
Blackberry bramble, black olive, caramel, lead pencil, tobacco leaf, clove, and cassis are just a few words to describe the immediate and stunning sensory experience. But the most satisfying moment for any student of this vineyard is to behold in this vintage the same attributes that have
etched this site into our hearts… intense dark brambly fruit, complimented by tobacco leaf, cedar, and extravagant caramel. Flavors of pure blackberry mingle with fine grain tannin buoyed by the sweet toast of well-integrated French Oak.

Supple and lush but with a restrained sweetness to the flavors of red and dark berries, minerals and dark chocolate. Ripe acidity gives this suave, nuanced wine plenty of verve. Finishes subtle and long, with a juicy minerality and a late hint of raspberry."

"Fisher's renowned Wedding Vineyard (a 9.3-acre parcel situated directly in front of their home) has been replanted, and the first offering since that occurred is the 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Wedding Vineyard. This has always been a top-notch site, and the 2005 is terrific. Its deep ruby/purple color precedes a bouquet of licorice, blueberries, blackberries, crushed rocks, and acacia flowers. An elegant entry on the palate is followed by a medium to full-bodied wine with abundant fruit, a beautiful texture, and a symmetrical mouthfeel and finish. It will provide immense enjoyment during its first 10-15 years of life."
