An exceptional year. Fruit sourced from this 84 yr old dry grown vineyard (planted in 1926) has produced a wine with wonderfully lifted aromatics with red fruits and hints of spice in abundance. Lively and bright on the palate with beautiful sweet red fruit characters, and subtle spicy notes. Great texture, and flavors that linger long, assisted by time in old french barrels. A very sexy wine.
"Medium red. Spicy raspberry and strawberry jam aromas display a pinot-like character. Clean and brisk, with lively red fruit flavors, supple texture and slow-building sweetness. Very pretty wine: I'd love to see this poured blind next to many New World pinots."
