critical acclaim:
"($67; 70% monastrell, 20% cabernet sauvignon and 10% syrah) Vivid ruby. Strongly perfumed, exotic bouquet of red and dark berries, candied plum, rose, spicecake and singed orange. Velvety in texture and seductively sweet, showing impressive depth and expansive black raspberry and cherry-vanilla flavors. The bright red berry and spice flavors display excellent clarity and cling tenaciously to the finish. You could scent a room with a glass of this."

"Alma de Luzon is the flagship of Finca Luzon. The 2005 is a blend of 70% Monastrell, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Syrah aged for 22 months in French and American oak. Purple-colored, it offers up a brooding bouquet of slate/mineral, blackberry, and black cherry. With excellent volume on the palate, it has loads of sweet fruit, enough structure to evolve for 4-6 years, and a pure, smooth finish. It will be at its best from 2012 to 2025.
