Alcohol By Volume Guide
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.
This Chardonnay displays beautifully with its light straw color sharing aromas of pear, white peach, honey, apple and vanilla combining with a touch of oak and baking spices. Flavors of refreshing citrus, lemon cream, pear, green apple and pastry crust
complement vanilla and baking spices on the palate.
Enjoy with Poached Salmon, Meyer Lemon Risotto or Chicken Cordon Bleu.
"A big step up and a brilliant Chardonnay, the 2011 Chardonnay Ashley's gold/green tinged color is followed by a steely, pure 2011 that has classic white peach, citrus blossom, mineral and white flower-like aromas and flavors as well as a lively, focused and elegant palate. Building in richness in the glass, yet with no loss of focus or purity, it is top flight stuff and, for the quality, is a great value."
The Wine Advocate
"The 2011 Chardonnay Ashley's is broad and creamy on the palate, with gorgeous depth and plenty of pure, resonant fruit. Aging in French oak adds warmth, richness and volume. Hints of white peach, pear and spice add lovely dimensions of complexity. This is an absolutely delicious wine from Fess Parker."
Vinous / Antonio Galloni
"Light yellow-gold. Fresh pineapple and peach aromas are complicated by floral honey, orange zest and dusty minerals. Fleshy and round, offering sappy melon and pit fruit flavors and a touch of candied ginger. A supple, intensely fruity style of California chardonnay, with very good finishing lift and precision."
