Ferrari-Carano TreMonte Chardonnay 1997

This unblended, one hundred per cent Chardonnay wine takes its heritage from the finest tradition of French white burgundies. The fruit is grown on north-facing slopes at an elevation of 1,300 feet, where the cool growing season gives a unique floral characteristic to this clone. The vines yield less than three tons per acre. We ferment the grapes entirely in small new French oak barrels in which the wine ages quietly while it develops its peachy, honeysuckle and caramel nuances. Perfectly balanced, the wine achieves both power and delicacy.
