Winemaker's Notes

Deep garnet with purple hints. A rather brooding nose of ripe raspberry countered with earth, toast and dark perfume... maybe deep red rose petals. The palate displays a plush, cushioned silkiness, with interplay of juicy, mouthwatering acid and ripe, rich raspberry and boysenberry fruit, offset with dusty bramble leaf. The finish is long and relatively complex for such a youthful wine, displaying minerals with dusty tannin and a kick of mocha.

Critical Acclaim

"Light on its feet, this is harmonious and beautifully focused to show its bright açaí berry and blackberry flavors in a spotlight. The finish sails on, letting the fruit linger. Drink now through 2015. 2,841 cases made. "
92 Points

"Medium-deep ruby purple colour. A little mute, pure cherry fruit, raspberry, black pepper and a touch of cinnamon. Plate shows very good balance, medium to high acid, medium level of very silky tannins, medium to full body. Long finish. "
90 Points

"Bright medium red. Sexy aromas of cherry, raspberry and spices lifted by a mineral nuance. Juicy, spicy and sharply delineated, with a light touch to its low-fat red berry and licorice flavors. Not a fleshy pinot but intense, focused and long. "
