Wine Style Guide

Light & Fruity

Red wines that are more fruit-forward and lighter in tannin and body.

Smooth & Supple

Medium bodied reds that go down easy, with smooth tannins and supple fruit.

Earthy & Spicy

Wines where earthy and/or spicy dominate the flavors – typically medium to full body.

Big & Bold

Full bodied wines that have concentrated fruit and are higher in alcohol and/or tannins. Some need age.

Winemaker's Notes

Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva is a vivid ruby red color. There is a nose of violet, wild black cherry, wild berries and touches of spices with a slight vanilla finish. The flavor full, enveloping, fine and elegant, with an excellent persistence.

Pairs well with grilled red and white meats, roasts and aged cheese.

Critical Acclaim

"In the modern camp, this red is fresh, exhibiting black cherry and plum flavors shaded by chocolate and spice. The tannins are still assertive, but this is balanced and shows sweetness, with fine length. Best from 2013 through 2022."
