This is the best value in an Italian wine--no, ANY wine--I've come across in years. Unbelievable complexity for a wine in this price range. My case has only lasted about two months since this is a perfect everyday drinking wine.

I WAS ASTONISHED WHEN I'VE TRIED VITIANO IN 1998. I HAD NO REFERENCE ABOUT FALESCO WINES BACK THEN AND JUST WANTED TO TRY THIS WINE FROM UMBRIA. I COULD NOT BELIEVE THAT A WINE (THEN FOR ABOUT $8.00 A BOTTLE) COULD HAVE SO MUCH CHARACTER. SAME REACTION I'VE HAD WHEN I TRIED THE 2000 MERLOT. GREAT WINES, GREAT PRICE.

The Italians have learned the secret to American wines, blending in some Cabernet and Merlot. The Super Tuscans are great but pricey. Now you can get an EXCEPTIONAL bottle of wine for around $10 that will demonstrate the dynamics of the sangoveise grape. Buy a case...excellent for a party gift or present (if you don't end up drinking all of them). This wine won't be $10 a bottle in two years, it wil be well above.
