Wine Style Guide

Light & Fruity

Red wines that are more fruit-forward and lighter in tannin and body.

Smooth & Supple

Medium bodied reds that go down easy, with smooth tannins and supple fruit.

Ratings Pedigree:

Winemaker's Notes

This 100% Garnacha offers a lovely perfume of spice box, mineral, and wild cherry. This perfectly balanced mix of flavors lends itself to an intensely fruity wine with loads of taste, a smooth texture, and a pure, fruit-filled finish.

Pairs well with white and red meats roasted or grilled, big game, meat casseroles and stews, complex sauces, foie gras and legumes or blue and cured cheeses.

Critical Acclaim

"(100% garnacha; no oak): Vivid purple. Powerful aromas of blueberry, blackberry, woodsmoke and Indian spices. Displays supple, open-knit flavors of smoky dark berries, bitter chocolate and candied flowers. Seductive right now, with a sweet floral pastille element carrying through a long, smoky, tannin-free finish. An amazing value."

This is certainly a fruit driven wine but has nice spice on the nose and mid palate with a super smooth feel and finish. A great example of how good Spanish Granacha can be at very reasonable price.Buy more than one a this price.

One of our "go to" wines when I do braised beef shanks in the pressure cooker. We can usually fine it cheaper at our local wine dealer but he seems to be out lately so for 10.00 a bottle, what the heck. Goes great with beef.

The most popular red varieties of Spain include Tempranillo and Garnacha (Grenache). Whites don't garner quite as much recognition, but there are some regional varieties not to be missed, like Albarino...
