The aromatics of the 2008 Pinot are most suggestive of juicy spiced cherries and currants, with the suggestions of anise and cola that are often typical of good Pinot Noir. There is a roundness and harmony to the texture, which makes the wine especially inviting for current drinking. Its flavor profile is keyed on cherry cobbler, plum jam, and oak spice, with floral high notes accentuating its brightness and freshness.
At the table, it is a fi ne match for all but the spiciest poultry and pork preparations (roasted pork loin with garlic and mustard!), polenta and sausages, and light pastas. It is classic with grilled or roasted salmon, and positively delicious as a glass of wine anytime.
