A brilliant, full garnet in color, the 2008 Esser Cabernet Sauvignon delivers ripe, zesty red fruit aromas, enhanced by sweet oak notes and hints of toffee, anise, and root spices. It is texturally generous, offering nice palate coverage as well as lots of cherry cobbler fruit, as well as grace notes of spice cake and plum liqueur.
It will partner nicely with hearty meat dishes such as braised lamb shank, Beef Burgundy, and Osso Buco, but will be just as much at home with grilled poultry or simply prepared cuts of fine beef, such as prime rib.
