Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Structured with elegant ripe tannins and an appealing length of flavor, the ripe berry fruits combine beautifully with hints of fennel and feral forest floor flavors. Inspired by the classic wines of Burgundy, this Pinot Noir is a tribute to Martinborough's unique terroir and the skills and experience of winemaker, Larry McKenna.

Style: Light & Fruity
An excellent example of a lighter NZ pinot noir from one of the best NZ regions for pinot (Otago being the other prime area). A light fruity style but still with that distinctive NZ character and freshness.
