The grapes for Eradus Sauvignon Blanc were grown in the Awatere Valley, Marlborough. The Awatere Valley is about 20 minutes south of the Wairau Valley and has its own unique microclimate. This microclimate can best be described as being slightly cooler than the Wairau Valley with more wind and less rainfall. Adding to this are the lighter "bonier" soils. Overall the above-mentioned factors give the Awatere wines a fresher, crisper and more herbaceous edge, both on the nose and palate. There is also an underlying minerality that is a hallmark of the Sauvignon Blanc grown throughout the Awatere Valley region.
The finished wine enjoys a basket of fruit flavors which show excellent freshness, ripeness, texture, delicacy and depth. It is a full-bodied wine with wonderful aromas of herbs, passionfruit, guava and citrus.
"This is herbal and bell-peppery but not to an extreme, balanced by citrus and pineapple fruit. It’s medium- to full-bodied, with an appealing, slightly oily texture and great length. Drink now; probably would be great with ceviche. "

"Lime, grapefruit and tangy peach flavors are concentrated, with grass, oyster shell and lemon thyme lingering on the finish. Drink now."
