From 5 to 15 year old vines, this entry-level Ribera from Emilio Moro sees around 4 months in oak, giving it a more youthful presentation of red and black fruit aromas and flavors. Chewy, with prominent, velvety tannins, well-balanced acidity, tangy blackberry fruit, dark chocolate, espresso and cinnamon.
"The 2008 Finca Resalso was made from the estate's younger Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) vines and aged in French oak for 4 months. Dark ruby-colored, it exhibits a nicely perfumed nose of violets, spice box, leather, and black cherry. This is followed by a medium to full-bodied wine with plenty of savory fruit, an easy-going personality, and excellent depth. This lengthy effort actually has 2-3 years of aging potential but can be enjoyed now. It over-delivers in a big way. "
