Full bodied wines that have concentrated fruit and are higher in alcohol and/or tannins. Some need age.
Alcohol By Volume: 14.4%
Alcohol By Volume Guide
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.
Our 2010 Oso Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is beautifully balanced, with a supple, elegant texture and lush ripe fruit flavors of cherry and blackberry, and subtle oak nuances of chocolate, toffee, and toasted vanilla.
"Emblem's 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Oso Vineyard is rich, juicy and deeply expressive. Plum, black cherry, graphite, tar and licorice meld together in an intense, full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2010 brings together the structure of the year along with an overt expression of fruit, which makes for an appealing wine that should drink well young but also develop nicely in bottle. Mocha and sweet French oak linger on a powerful finish laced with incisive mountain tannins. The blend is 83% Cabernet Sauvignon and 17% Petit Verdot. Within the context of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, this is a terrific value. "
