A dense, rich, full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon from the loamy benchland soils of our north St. Helena estate vineyard. The wine is plush and juicy with flavors of blackberries, truffles, black plums, torrefaction, toasted coconut, raspberry jam and cocoa. The power always present in our Ehlers Cabernet is polished to a sheen with the addition of 9% Cabernet Franc and 3% Merlot, while a final dash of 3% Petit Verdot contributes a hint of blueberry and nutmeg to this Bordeaux-style blend. Great structure and balance, fine tanins, will age for decades.
In 1886, Bernard Ehlers completed planting the vineyards and constructed the stone winery building, which remains today as the focal point of the Estate.
