Morgon displays a beautiful intense purple color highlighted with glints of ruby. Its fruit character lies in the direction of apricot, peach, cherry and plum, with subtle hints of kirsch and anise.
Food pairings: Prosciutto and carpaccio, red meats cooked in a wine sauce, feathered game, assertive cheese.
The 2005 Duboeuf Morgon is a full-bodied version of ordinary Beaujolais. Weak aromatics. Nice enough flavor, but not up to par with the best cru Beaujolais of 2005.
