Wine Style Guide

Light & Fruity

Red wines that are more fruit-forward and lighter in tannin and body.

Smooth & Supple

Medium bodied reds that go down easy, with smooth tannins and supple fruit.

Earthy & Spicy

Wines where earthy and/or spicy dominate the flavors – typically medium to full body.

Big & Bold

Full bodied wines that have concentrated fruit and are higher in alcohol and/or tannins. Some need age.

Winemaker's Notes

Julienas wines are colorful, solid, firm "autumn" wines that will reach their peak after a few years in the cellar.

A deep crimson with purplish tints, this wine reveals complex, delicate aromas of dark berries and flowers (peonies and violets) with hints of pepper.

Clean and fruity, well-balanced, quite full and aromatic, the wine has a fine structure. Serve with early spring barbecues.

Critical Acclaim

"Black raspberry and cassis dominate the Duboeuf 2008 Julienas, with iris-like floral notes adding allure in the nose, and a gentle, soothing, generously juicy palate impression rendering it impossible not to like. "

Those are usually the Cru Beaujolais and are...
