winemaker's notes:
The 2003 Old Vine Zinfandel is the best blend from our finest Sonoma sites. This vintage gives us aromas of blackberry and raspberry mixed with a hint of clove and spice. Balanced and elegant, a wonderful harmony of dark fruit coats the palate with flavors of dark berry, ripe cherry and plum. The jammy berry flavors expand across the palate with a hint of earthiness and spice and a long, distinctive finish.

This is one of the best Zin`s iv`e ever had. Dry Creek puts out a very good product. It was soo good, i bought another bottle and joined there club. Can`t wait to try the 2004. If your looking to stock the cellar, this one and one of Williams Selyem`s Zin`s would be two great choices. R.Bell

Me and my SO have enjoyed the Dry Creek 2003 OVZ twice ... so far ! My SO noted that it has rich wonderful spice nose that carries right on through in the flavor, which she said was distinctively "Clove and holiday spice" coming out of the deep jammy berry base - and "perfect for the season". I got this too, but first noted the nice integrated woods and earth flavors that add to a rich, smooth, long, and "distinctive" (as described in the notes) finsh. It could easily fetch more than $28.99, and while not "cheap" it is certainly worth it in my opinion and agree with the "93".

Wonderful. The bottle was given to me by a friend for a birthday present. I have only recently started drinking wine, but I have had a fair number of varieties and this was one of the best, if not the best. Mellow, but full flavored with a nice even balance of fruity and dry and just a hint of spices.
