This intense Spätlese bears the characteristic purity of the
vintage. It is very ripe and juicy, with a mouth-filling richness
that is balanced by a firm, typically spicy minerality. At the
end, there is a lovely lift to the dry finish.
This is a wonderful wine for richer foods. Its low alcohol
makes it especially good with spicy Asian/fusion cuisine.
"This pure-tasting wine offers well-defined apricot, peach and quince flavors accented by spicy notes and hints of cream, with a luscious, vanilla-infused finish. Drink now through 2025."
"Fresh strawberry and lime along with suggestions of musky narcissus and distilled herbal elixir on the nose and delicate palate of Loosen’s 2009 Urziger Wurzgarten Riesling Spatlese lead to a juicy, compulsively swallow-able finish threaded with salt and crushed stone. As this opens, further floral, herbal and mineral nuances emerge, and it promises to perform seductively for 25 or more years. If your taste memory doesn’t encompass last year’s rendition, you could be forgiven for asking yourself how much better a non gold-capsule Loosen Wurzgarten Spatlese could get. "

"Peach, mango and a hint of honey on the nose. The lush, sweet peach fruit is complemented by a subtle spiciness and highlighted by a slate component. Well-balanced, very elegant and persistent, but not quite as vibrant as the kabinett.
