Napanook is made solely from grapes grown at the historic Napanook Vineyard in Yountville, Napa Valley. The wine is blended from blocks in the vineyard that were carefully selected for their lively fruit, soft tannins and early maturing characteristics.
"The 2008 Napanook (84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc and the rest Petit Verdot) may be one of the greatest Napanooks made. It is a deeper, richer, more intense wine with full body, an endearing texture and a long, pure finish. These two are “take your pick” vintages, but wine enthusiasts would probably be remiss in not having both 2007 and 2008 in their cellars. "

"Full red-ruby. Crushed currant, licorice and leather on the rather wild nose, lifted by a floral component. More scented today than the 2007 version, and more obviously mineral-driven, but can't match the flagship wine for mid-palate lift. Some serious tannins kick in on the minerally finish. 89-90"
