Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

The robe is yellow with green reflections. The nose is marked, frank, with very fresh and fruity notes. Airing develops citrus fruit perfumes of grapefruit and green lime. In the mouth, the onset is incisive and sinewy. The middle mouth is full-bodoed, reinforced by a salinity that also persists at the end mouth along with a superb freshness. Lovers of dry, straight and racy Riesling... enjoy yourselves!

A perfect wine for seafood, shellfish and also for raw or marinated fish.

Critical Acclaim

"Finely perfumed wine, with all the right crisp, steely character of Riesling. It has bright white fruit flavors, intense initial acidity that broadens out into a fine, complex wine. Worth aging 3–4 years.

Learn About Domaines Schlumberger Map ItMap It

Domaines Schlumberger only harvests grapes from their own vineyards and are entirely dedicated to quality, which is achieved through deliberately producing very restricted yields per hectare.

The planting and judicious choice of grape varieties, pruning the vines, constantly surveying the grapes as they ripen, and the precious care that they are given enable a strict selection to be made during harvesting. Each plot, or even each bunch of grapes, will only be picked if it is completely ripe.
