Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

The color is light yellow with green reflection. The ring (top of the glass) is bright and luminous. The nose is fine and delicate, on floral and fruity notes. Green lime notes can be found after airing. In the mouth, the onset shows vivacity and as slightly full-bodied, but very fresh. We note the characteristics of a fresh vintage. In the middle mouth, we evolve on more mineral, slightly grilled notes. The finish is of medium length and very fine, making this wine a perfectly balanced wine.

This wine goes well with a platter of charcuterie or seafood or with asparagus.

Critical Acclaim

"Dry and lip-smacking, offering flavors of crunchy green pear, white peach, lemon zest and stone, with a zesty, mineral-tinged finish."

Learn About Domaines Schlumberger Map ItMap It

Domaines Schlumberger only harvests grapes from their own vineyards and are entirely dedicated to quality, which is achieved through deliberately producing very restricted yields per hectare.

The planting and judicious choice of grape varieties, pruning the vines, constantly surveying the grapes as they ripen, and the precious care that they are given enable a strict selection to be made during harvesting. Each plot, or even each bunch of grapes, will only be picked if it is completely ripe.

Pinot Blanc(pee-no blahnk) Pretty and Simple A mutation of the Pinot family, Pinot Blanc was once commonly mistaken for Chardonnay - it looks quite similar on the vine. But true Pinot Blanc lacks most Chardonnay characteristics. The grape is most at home in Alsace, where it is used both in blends as well as a sole varietal. It's also found in Italy...
