Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Dark ruby color, with purple reflections. Closed at first on the nose, but after aeration it shows itself to be very complex and of high quality. One finds notes of licorice, humus, and above all a subtle hint of truffle, which is always a sign of a great terroir. The mouth is flawless, with an opulent attack, and ripe tannins that envelope this wine with the aroma of bilberries of great purity. A long finish that dazzles and amazes.

Critical Acclaim

"Made with 30% whole clusters. An intensely floral and extremely fresh red berry fruit and kirsch nose slides seamlessly into rich, detailed and energetic earth-laden flavors that possess unusually good mid-palate concentration and while the impressively persistent and well-balanced finish is quite firm, indeed even robust, there is no aggressiveness to the tannic structure. This offers terrific quality for what it is and is highly recommended. Drink: 2016+
