Bearing in mind the context of this vintage, I wanted to avoid making heavy, clumsy, vulgar wines. The result is superb, the minerality of our terroirs make up for the lack of acidity. Carried by the quality of the tannins, the wines have a very deep color with no dullness at all. There is a huge, unique volume in the mouth, which is no doubt atypical of our Pinot Noir in Burgundy, but there is a very high quality range of expression. This vintage is in a generous, extroverted style, which should make it approachable young.
"A big, muscular red, fresh, with blackberry, coffee and spice aromas and flavors backed by severe tannins. It's concentrated and shows finesse, but will require years to soften and open up fully. Fine length. Best from 2010 through 2035. 420 cases made. –BS"
