Winemaker's Notes

A nose of spicy blackberries and black cherries with a hint of menthol and allspice. Seamless, concentrated, single-vineyard blend of Carignane, Mourvedre, and Syrah with fruit flavors of dark, ripe black cherries, mineral and spice.

Blend: Carignan 60%, Mourvèdre 25%, Syrah 15%

Aric is local dialect for Alaric, King of the Visigoths who gave his name to the mountain whose slopes conceal the Lignères fabulous terroir. The surname of a grandmother, a direct descendant of those Barbarian warriors, was Amalric, and a question still haunts the family today: had Alaric known that his mountain possessed such wonderful wine, would he have plundered Rome in 410 AD?

Love this wine. Smooth and silky but full of body. It is well worth shopping for as I have found it locally for $17. Will by a case if I can get my hands on it.
