Montagny is the southernmost village of the Côte Chalonnaise, situated at the border of the Mâconnais. Chardonnay, the only varietal permitted in this appellation, blossoms marvelously on these hilly, uneven vineyards of marly soils.
Limpid, pale yellow color. The nose is expressive of fresh scents (flowers and minerals). At first, the mouth is rather nervous and marked by a permeating vivacity which is followed by a fine balance between the acidity and the concentration intrinsic to the wine. The finish is persistent and lovely.
Serve with fish, shellfish and vegetable terrines.
