winemaker's notes:

The Bourgogne Rouge is named after Joseph Faiveley (1823 – 1923; 2nd generation Faiveley), son of founder Pierre Faiveley. Joseph developed the wine business his father had founded by expanding his wine markets. An enthusiastic traveller, he journeyed extensively throughout Europe to promote the quality of his wines. Joseph initiated a policy that his descendents continued and refined to an art – purchasing vineyards situated in the best appellations and terroirs.

Beautiful, very deep, dark ruby color. Nice nose, already open, of fresh fruits (cherries). Pleasant on the palate and well-structured at the same time, the tannins are present without being too invasive, we sense the rich and very ripe grapes. This Burgundy is already enjoyable to drink now.

  Great Value! - 11/24/2007
I would buy this wine again
I had this wine for the first time on Thanksgiving and thoroughly enjoyed the medium bodied, silky texture and balanced tannins. Nice fruity Pinot at a reasonable price.

A Customer - Dallas TX
I had this wine for the first time last night at Steel (fab restaurant)... one of the best Pinots I've ever had. Light to medium body and delicious. Enjoy!
A Customer - San Francisco, CA
A very delicious Pinot Noir, produced with the high standards of quality Brugundian style Pinot. Matches well with a diverse selection of food and occassions. What differentiates this wine from top tier Pinots is the structure limitations for ageing. Purchase for the present, not the cellar. Great quality for the money. Bon Apetit.

Kosher
A Kosher wine begins like every other - as grapes on a vine. Once they reach the winery for crushing, the wine is under strict rabbinal supervision.
Screw Cap wine
Screw Cap
Many studies report and winemakers agree that screw caps protect wine better and preserve its flavor more effectively than cork. More importantly, screw caps eliminate cork taint caused by TCA, a compound which develops in a small percentage of corks and ruins the taste of wine.
