In keeping with the traditional Dierberg style, the 2009 Pinot Noir is a structured wine, yet one that retains great balance, nerve and elegance. Dark raspberry and wild blackberry notes are accented by the characteristic forest floor aromas typical of our vineyard terroir. Flavors lean towards the fresh raspberry end of the spectrum, with light mocha and complex forest floor nuances.
"The 2009 Pinot Noir Dierberg Vineyard possesses remarkable depth and richness, not to mention terrific balance. Supple and generous, the 2009 offers up black cherries, mint, flowers and spices, all in a juicy, forward style. Floral notes add lift on the gracious finish. The 2009 spent 18 months in French oak barrels, 30% new."
The Wine Advocate
"Medium-deep ruby color; earthy, dusty cherry aromas; deep, complex earthy cherry flavors with forest floor and toasty notes; good structure and balance; long finish. Deep, earthy Pinot that needs time to open in the glass."
