Delicato Blue Label Merlot 2000

This is a medium bodied, deep garnet wine with hints of violet. This Merlot is blended with other red varietal grapes to create a mellow wine of layered complexity. It has a spicy, ripe cherry and rose petal aroma with notes of chocolate-y coffee and smokey oak. This is a supple wine endowed with flavors of black cherries, ripe plums and currants. While quite drinkable now, the wine will continue to improve with age over the next few years. Try it with prime rib or steak, or perhaps with pasta in a rich, meaty tomato sauce.
