    Winemaker Notes

This appellation follows the coastline from Santa Barbara to the San Francisco Bay, benefiting from the cooling influence of the pacific. The climate in 2003 was ideal in these cool regions, allowing us to achieve ripe flavors and supple tannins while retaining acidity and balance. A core of bright cherry fruit, subtle toast, and notes of earth and spice make this a versatile companion to a wide array of cuisines. It is drinking very nicely now, yet has balance and structure to allow up to five years cellaring if desired. At David Bruce Winery we source only the best wine grapes in California, from as far north in Sonoma County, to the southern reaches of Santa Barbara County. "We paint with a broad brush and sample with a small spoon."
