David Bruce Central Coast Petite Syrah 2003
from Central Coast, California
While the Central Coast appellation covers a large territory, these grapes come primarily from Paso Robles and the neighboring southern portion of Monterey County. Our winemaking techniques emphasize the abundant berry fruit and rose petal perfume aromas, while keeping the palate soft and approachable. Judicious blending with Grenache and Syrah adds raspberry and peppercorn flavors, balanced by subtle toasted oak. It will pair nicely with a wide variety of foods from grilled meats to spicy Mediterranean cuisine. While drinking very well now, it will evolve nicely for up to five years in a proper cellar. Enjoy!

TRIED FOR THE FIRST TIME THE OTHER EVENING,AND WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED. MUCH SOFTER AND MORE SUBTLE THAN MOST PETITE SYRAH'S I'VE HAD IN THE PAST(MAINLY STAGS LEAP WINE CELLARS). HUGE FAN OF BRUCE'S PINOT AND WAS VERY IMPRESSED BY THE PETITE SYRAH,CAN ONLY IMAGINE IT WILL IMPROVE WITH AGE AS IT IS QUITE YOUNG.WOULD TRY AGAIN AND DO RECOMMEND TO ANY WINE ENTUSIASTS.

Tried this wine last night for the first time. It was excellent. A little berry aroma. Hint of oak. Light yet not weak. Went excellent with the fillet mignon. Paid $30 for it at the Restaurant so guess it is $15-$20 retail per bottle.
