Dalla Valle Cabernet Sauvignon 1998
Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, California
ratings pedigree (past vintages):
winemaker's notes:
The 1998 is showing lovely balance and refinement with an evolved nose of blackcurrants and flowers—very Bordeaulais. Exceptional approachability. Mouth-coating cassis, white chocolate and a soft, smooth finish. What a treat!
critical acclaim:
"The spectacular, full-bodied 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon possesses great character, richness, and black currant fruit intermixed with licorice, tobacco, and smoke. While not as opulent as some vintages, it is exceptionally concentrated, long, and reminiscent of a ripe Bordeaux from a top vintage."

The Wine Advocate
"Well-proportioned, with a mix of generous plum, black cherry and blackberry fruit, anise, sage and cedar. The texture is supple and polished, with a long, complex finish."

Wine Spectator
"Ruby-red. Ripe aromas of cassis, currant, shoe polish, loam and graphite. Supple, juicy and harmonious, with noteworthy sweetness and inner-mouth florals for the year. Finishes with smooth, ripe tannins and excellent length. This has turned out very well. An extremely impressive '98."
