The 2008 DAOU Celestus opens with lush aromas of dark fruits, licorice and lead pencil that lead to an integrated and satiny mid palate accentuated by the French oak. The predominant Syrah imparts it with flavors of "garrigue" - with hints of lavender, sage, wild thyme and dark cherry. The Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot add structure and power to the wine leading to an elegant and long finish that that just keeps getting better as the wine opens up in the glass.
