winemaker's notes:
Beginning with its lovely purple colour, this wine is the epitome of
elegance. Its rich multi-faceted aromas of black cherry, black berry,
violets, sage, anise and vanilla are balanced by ripe plum, blueberry pie,
mocha, and sage flavours. Medium-bodied, it has velvety tannins that are
well-integrated and contribute to the wine's harmonious impression on the
palate. Silky smooth with subtle hints of vanilla and spice in the finish, it
drinks well now but can be cellared for close to a decade.

"The 2006 Finis Terrae (which is destined to become the second label of LOTA) is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot raised for 14 months in French oak, 65% new. Purple-colored, the wine has a fragrant bouquet of wood smoke, cedar, leather, black currants, and blackberry. Bordeaux-like on the palate with an elegant personality, it has a smooth-texture, succulent flavors, excellent depth, and a long, pure finish. It will evolve for 2-3 years and be at its best from 2011 to 2022."

"Deep red with a bright rim. A complex bouquet displays redcurrant, cherry skin, lead pencil and cedar; smells like a traditional Bordeaux. Midweight red fruit flavors pack solid punch and are fat-free, with candied rose and sweet tobacco qualities building on the back end. The finish repeats the redcurrant note and lingers nicely. This is the best example of this wine that I've had in some time."
