Alcohol By Volume: 13.0%

Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

The Soave's extended exposure to the skins give the wine an intense yellow color and scents of ripe apples. On the palate it gives off flavors of ripe citrus fruit and golden apples along with a classic almond finish.

Critical Acclaim

"The 2009 Soave Vigne di Mezzane brings together ripe, juicy apricots, peaches, flowers, smoke and mint. It shows terrific up front juiciness, along with persistent notes of minerality that shape the attractive finish. The Vigne di Mezzane is a gorgeous white from Corte Sant’Alda. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2014.

This is a sublime set of wines from Corte Sant’Alda. The estate has made notable wines for some time, but this year I was especially struck by the elegance of the entire range. "

Style: Light & Crisp
Really like this wine. Just the right balance of crispness and flavor. Perfect chilled about 5 degrees colder that might think and drink outside on a warm summer night. Paired with summer stir fry, but would be excelled with seafood, snacks or just as easy drinking with friends.
