Winemaker's Notes

Blend: 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, 5% Syrah

"Aromas of dried cherries, sandalwood and vanilla lead to sweet currants and cocoa flavors. This classic Napa Cabernet Sauvignon is elegant and smooth, yet complex with dense fruit and a lingering finish."
- Jeff McBride, Winemaker

Napa Valley chef Thad Lyman pairs the 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon with grilled tri-tip steak, topped with barbeque sauce or sautéed summer morels and accompanied by a crisp Caesar salad. Finish off the meal with decadent chocolate cake and fresh farmer's market blackberries.

Conn Creek was founded in 1973 and immediately established itself as one of Napa Valley's premier Cabernet houses with the release of its 1974 Eisele Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery name comes from its location, next to Conn Creek near the Rutherford Crossroad that connects the Silverado Trail with Highway 29. Conn Creek specializes in limited production Bordeaux varietal wines exclusively from Napa Valley’s best vineyards. Present production remains at fewer than 6500 case per year.

Either way, this grape is responsible, as a whole or a partner, for some of the greatest wines in the world. In Bordeaux,...
