This is a delightful cab at a cut-rate price. Wonderfully flavorful.. full of berry and oak with earthy accents. Smooth and very drinkable.

While I have always been a fan of Chilean wines, and expecially the Concha y Toro labels. I tend to prefer the more gentle Merlots, but the 2000 Xplorador Cabernet has taken its place at the top of my favorite wine list. The nose is mildly smokey and remeniscent of raspberries. While the presence of oak is obvious, it is not overpowering and as Cabs go, the tannic bite is more subtle than most, thus offering a very pleasing finish. This wine is flavorful, gentle, well-balanced,and remarkably drinkable. For the price, it is an outstanding value!
