Winemaker's Notes

Color: Dark and deep red.

Nose: Ripe and dense, remarkably focused on flavor, offering solid blackberry and cherry flavors. At the end a lasting smoky yet rich black-tar.

Palate: The entry is powerful and supple with an enormous core of fresh fruit, the enveloped of tannins are firm, ripe, round and elegant, offer a good evolution in the mouth detaching freshness and elegance in a particular young style.

Critical Acclaim

"Quite ripe, but stays very stylish, with velvety layers of plum pudding and braised fig backed by hoisin sauce, charred apple wood and mineral. The long, fleshy finish has nice buried acidity. Drink now through 2011. 1,000 cases made"
92 Points

"The 2006 Syrah Rucahue Vineyard reveals pepper, violets, scorched earth, and mineral in its complex perfume. Round and friendly on the palate, this savory wine will evolve for 2-3 years and drink well through 2018."
