winemaker's notes:

Color: Dark and deep crimson red.

Bouquet: Luscious flavors - dark plums and chocolate with hints of coffee and toasty American oak.

Taste: Notes of dark plums and spice, generously framed by toasty American oak with a soft and well structured mouthfilling texture.

Casillero del Diablo Carménère is excellent with fresh light dishes based in meats, vegetables and fresh herbs. Also a good accompaniment to ripe cheeses such as Gouda, Gruyere or a dry goat cheese.

"A very ripe and ready style of Carmenere. The big berry aromas mixed with spice and herbs are just what you need to get into the juicy, forward palate of plum and blackberry. Roun din the mouth, not tannic, yet still a force to reckon with. Fro $10 this is a lot of wine." 88 Points,
Wine Enthusiast

I would not buy this wine again
Great price but a bit on the light side with a short finish. Didn't feel like a great value because I didn't really want another glass.

I would buy this wine again
Definitely a great buy! I really take pride in serving wine my guests love. Then, in the end telling them what a great value they enjoyed. This is one of those wines that novices will love. With it's big and pleasant fruit feel. The men will love cause of it's gusto. The wine lovers will love cause it's not just one of those good, bad wines. By all means, a crowd pleaser and superb buy. I am that party thrower that blinds their guest and reveals the winner at the end of a night. This was a recent winner. Snatch this one up!

Kosher
A Kosher wine begins like every other - as grapes on a vine. Once they reach the winery for crushing, the wine is under strict rabbinal supervision.
Screw Cap wine
Screw Cap
Many studies report and winemakers agree that screw caps protect wine better and preserve its flavor more effectively than cork. More importantly, screw caps eliminate cork taint caused by TCA, a compound which develops in a small percentage of corks and ruins the taste of wine.
