Concha y Toro 4 Casillero Del Diablo Carmenere - disco 4
Carmenere
from Chile, South America
winemaker's notes:
Looking for an amazing value, delicious and new wine? This wine was what Bordeaux was originally primarily made from, now its found almost exclusively in Chile. This is a delicious example of this incredible variety, which combines the best of Cabernet and Merlot - Concha y Toro makes the best examples of this unique variety in the world.
Dark and deep red. Attractive aromas of dark plums, blackcurrant and chocolate, with hints of coffee and toasted American oak. Notes of dark plums and spice, with a generous touch of toasted American oak and a soft and well structured mouthfilling texture.
Enjoy with fresh light dishes based on meat and vegetables. Also a good accompaniment to ripe cheese.

I picked up this wine because it was on sale for $7.99 and I had some Carmenere wines from Chile before that were excellent, although much more expensive than this one. For an under $10 wine I am very impressed with this wine, great flavors, nice structure with a bold yet fruity taste. I did decant this wine, and noticed that after about 20 minutes it got better. I suggest opening this up and let it breathe
