winemaker's notes:

Our Selected Vineyards wines are well-loved varieties from select Central Coast vineyards and represent remarkable value. California's Central Coast offers unmatched blending diversity from its multitude of microclimates. Cool region grapes contribute distinctive fresh fruit nuances and warm region grapes add depth of flavor and complexity. highly acclaimed wines take no shortcuts and are easily worth twice their modest price.

2009 Pinot Noir, Selected Vineyards is rich in both color and fragrance. With aromas of rasberry and ripe strawberry, this medium-bodied wine is very food-friendly. Balanced by warm spice accents of cloves and cinnamon, the bright red fruit flavors finish round and smooth.

Suggested Pairings: Lobster Bisque, beet and endive salad, or smoked duck breast.

alcohol by volume: 13.5%

rating (11/3/2011):
I really enjoy this wine! I don't know how to pair with foods. I usually drink after I eat. I really love the taste, now that I know how I'm supposed to drink it. I used to drink all wine too cold. So none of them tasted good. I highly recommend this one!!

if you are looking for a pinot noir bottle of wine that won't let you down, given the fact the you spend $9.29 for the world's most difficult wine to make, this is your way to go. It has a clear color, very pinot-noir-like. On the nose, I get the typical pinot noir flavours. Black berries, earthiness or wood-like flavour (whichever makes more sense to you) and a hint of spice. However, this doesn't fully live up to the way it tastes! It is almost unfelt on the midpalate. It doesn't have a lot of character. Sure thing, no tannins (or you may find them if you are a wine expert.) I would recommend this wine to beginners for the sake of expanding palates. But again for a $9.29 pinot noir bottle of wine, this is definitely a steel. I am 87+ on this effort. Happy drinking!
